Our review
★★★☆☆ 3.4
POF built its empire on free messaging and still lets you contact people without paying, which keeps its user base enormous and its inbox quality uneven. It skews a bit older and more working-class than Tinder, with strong coverage in smaller towns where the trendy apps are empty. Expect to do more filtering yourself: scams and low-effort profiles are a real presence.
Pros
- Free messaging
- Strong coverage outside big cities
- Huge user database
Cons
- Noticeable scam/bot problem
- Cluttered interface with live-stream upsells
- Inbox quality is hit-or-miss
