Tinder invented the swipe and still has the largest, most active pool of any dating app, which makes it the default first stop for most singles under 35. The experience is fast and game-like, and what you get out of it depends heavily on your photos and your city. It leans casual, but plenty of relationships start here simply because everyone is on it. Paid tiers mostly buy visibility, and the free experience has become noticeably more limited over the years.
